First Face-to-face Meeting of the PCB Small intersessional working group

Highlights: In its decision SC-8/3, the Conference of the Parties decided to undertake, at its ninth meeting, a review of progress towards the elimination of PCB in accordance with paragraph (h) of part II of Annex A to the Convention. The Conference of the Parties established a small intersessional working group, working by electronic means and, subject to the availability of funding, through a face-to-face meeting, to prepare a report on progress towards the elimination of PCB for consideration by the Conference of the Parties at its ninth meeting and requested the Secretariat to support the group.

The PCB small intersessional working group will finalize the report and recommendations for submission to the Conference of the Parties to the Stockholm Convention at its ninth meeting.

Working language: English

Organizer: The meeting was organized, thanks to the generous financial contribution of the European Union and the Government of Norway. The Government of Japan also supported in the preparation of the draft report.

Meeting objectives:

  • To finalize the report on progress towards the elimination of PCB, including recommendations
