Dear Colleagues,
As you know that the Africa Institute and the United Nation Environment Programme (UNEP) are jointly implementing medium size projects entitled “Integrated SC toolkit to improve the transmission of information under Articles 07 and 15” (GEF ID 9884) and “Continuing support for POPs Global Monitoring Plan under the Stockholm Convention” in the Africa Region (GEF 4886).
The projects objectives are:
- To promote the integrated articles 7 and 15 electronic toolkit and its use, thus contributing toward achieving the objective of the GEF project, namely, to facilitate the development, transmission, access, and use of data contained in National Implementation Plans (NIP, Article 7) and National Reports (Article 15), and
- To support strengthening conditions for sustainable monitoring and sound management of POPs at regional and national levels towards fulfilling the obligations under the Stockholm Convention.
As part of the execution of the project, three online webinars are being arranged, each of which have a different focus on the aspects of the project.
The first webinar was conducted on 16 – 17 November 2022, and was aimed at the Strengthening regional coordination and collaboration and increasing the capacity for sustainable monitoring and sound management of POPs at the national level in the Africa Region. You are now invited to the second online webinar on the promotion of the use of the integrated articles 7 and 15 electronic toolkit. The second webinar is scheduled for the 31st of March 2023. Africa Institute would like to request the two persons that were nominated and attended the first webinar on behalf of your country, to partake on this upcoming second webinar.

The focus of this second webinar will be on:
1. To promote the integrated articles 7 and 15 electronic toolkit and its use among the participating Parties, thus contributing toward achieving the objective of the GEF project, namely, to facilitate the development, transmission, access, and use of data contained in National Implementation Plans (NIP, Article 7) and National Reports (Article 15).
